Twen/Tessa Mid Century sofa designed by Fred Lowen.
This piece is an early variation of what went on to be know as the T1, prior to the company being called Tessa, it was initially named Twen.
This design is a low-back model of the T1, with a right-angle seat and back design, as opposed to the curved design seen in later Tessa models.
The original wool upholstery is still in very good condition given its age. There are no rips or tears, the only think of not is some light fading from the sun over many decades. The fading is consistent over the whole piece, therefore there are no obvious contrasts between colours.
The Blackwood frame has been meticulously stripped, sanded and refinished, showing off the beautiful grain once again. The sofa also comes with the original armrests, which easily clip on and off.
This piece is still very comfortable, and is ready to be enjoyed for decades to come.
