G Plan Fresco Teak English Sideboard/Highboard
Stunning highboard in rich teak veneer manufactured by UK furniture company G-Plan in the 1960’s. A superb Midcentury design.
This wonderful and versatile piece is overall in very nice vintage condition. From the top it features a sliding door, covering the left and middle compartments, the middle featuring an adjustable shelf. To the right is a pull-down sliding cocktail cabinet, with a perfectly functioning slide. The bottom level features three pull-out drawers, the top cutlery drawer having its original felt. This middle compartment is flanked by two deep cabinets, both of which have an adjustable shelf.
Blemishes:
This piece overall is very nice and presents beautiful, with very minimal scratches and signs of wear. On the left side of the cabinet there are several signs of wear, including dents, scratches and a chip to the veneer, all of which can be seen in the last photo. There are then two more small chips either side of the piece. Please message me asking for the photos of these as I can only upload 10 photos.
There was also a crack to one of the leg supports, these has been both reinforced, and reglued, and everything is now sturdy, it’s also completely out of site from the front. Again I have a photo of this as well which I can supply.
Although not a blemish, there was originally a glass shelf that lived in the cocktail compartment which has gone missing, I’m happy to have another glass shelf cut to size, and included in the sale price, if desired by the purchaser.
Please remember this is an item that has lived a 60 year life, and is not perfect.
