Launched in 1959 by Fler, the D70 was another variation of their popular ‘D71’ which featured the timber surfboard back. The D70 offered a more simple, straight forward design with a steel tubular backrest. The generous size meant that it could allow to seat four, or remove the wedge cushions to have a full sized single daybed.
Similar to many of Fred Lowans designs from the 1950’s, the legs are made from a lovely Queensland Maple.
The timber has been fully sanded and refinished, now presenting in excellent vintage condition.
The original springs are still in fantastic condition and are very supportive. Brand new foam throughout, as well as a stunning light green fabric from Zepel fabrics, which features Zepel’s popular FibreGuard stain-resistant treatment.
